What Languages Can I Translate from and into in Pairaphrase?
This article explains which languages are supported in Pairaphrase and what to do if you do not see the language you need when translating your documents.
Pairaphrase integrates multiple translation engines—DeepL, Google Translate, Microsoft Translator, and ChatGPT—each supporting different sets of languages. If your desired language is not available when processing a file, switching to another translation engine within Pairaphrase may allow you to complete your translation.
Translation Engine Language Support
Because each translation engine maintains its own language coverage, supported languages may vary by engine and can change over time.
DeepL
DeepL supports translations across dozens of widely used languages and is especially strong in European and high-resource language pairs. Commonly supported languages include German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, and Chinese, among others.
Google Translate
Google Translate offers the broadest language coverage in Pairaphrase and supports hundreds of languages and dialects. This includes widely spoken and regional languages such as Afrikaans, Hindi, Icelandic, Swahili, Welsh, Haitian Creole, and many more.
Microsoft Translator
Microsoft Translator supports a large number of global languages and is commonly used for business and technical translations. Supported languages include Afrikaans, Bosnian, Khmer, Lao, Pashto, as well as many other widely used languages.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT supports a wide range of languages and is particularly effective at producing natural-sounding translations. It is well-suited for conversational, creative, or context-dependent content and performs well across many commonly used and emerging language pairs.
How to Switch Translation Engines in Pairaphrase
Switching translation engines is simple. Go to your User Profile by clicking your name or "My Account" in the top right corner. Then, select "Translation Engine" from the left sidebar and choose your preferred engine (DeepL, Google, Microsoft, or ChatGPT).
