How to Use the Download Button in Pairaphrase File Editor

This article explains how to use the Download button in Pairaphrase for exporting your files and translation assets.

Whether you need your original file, the translated version, or supporting files like post-OCR outputs or analysis reports, this menu has you covered.

Below is a breakdown of each option available under the Download dropdown menu:

Download Original

This option allows you to download the original file you uploaded to Pairaphrase. It’s useful if you need a copy of the untouched source document for reference or backup.

Tip: This file is exactly as it was uploaded, with no OCR or translation applied.

Download Post-OCR File

If your uploaded document was a scanned image or PDF, Pairaphrase automatically performs Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract text. This button lets you download the resulting editable text document.

Use Case: If you uploaded a scanned form or image-based PDF, this gives you a clean version of the text before translation.

Download Translation

Click this to download your translated document. Pairaphrase preserves the original formatting as much as possible, so your translated file looks and feels like the source file—just in another language.

Format: Your translation will be exported in the same file format as the original (e.g., DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, etc.). In the case of PDFs, if you download the file to your computer, you will obtain a DOCX file, while if you Save to Google Drive, you will get a PDF.

Original Viewer

Want to preview your original file without downloading it? Use the Original Viewer to open the source document directly within Pairaphrase. This helps you quickly compare segments or verify formatting.

Note: This is a view-only tool and doesn't allow editing.

Translation Viewer

Similar to the Original Viewer, the Translation Viewer lets you preview the translated file inside the application before downloading it. It’s ideal for making final checks before sharing the file.

Save to Google Drive

This button enables you to save your translated file directly to your connected Google Drive account. It streamlines your workflow if you're collaborating through Google Workspace.

Tip: Make sure your Google account is connected.

Download Analysis

Pairaphrase generates a detailed analysis of your translation project. This includes metrics like:

  • Word count
  • Segments
  • Use of Translation Memory
  • Glossary matches
  • AI translation usage

Use Case: Ideal for reporting, billing, or project auditing purposes.

Final Notes

These options help you maintain control and flexibility in your translation workflow. Whether you're collaborating with a team, reporting to stakeholders, or managing compliance, the Download menu ensures you have access to every file and resource you need.
