This article explains how to upload a Glossary.
Import a Language Translation Glossary into Pairaphrase
A Glossary or terminology database (also known as a term base), is a collection of terms and their corresponding translations in two languages. It is used to ensure consistency in terminology across different translations of the same text, or across different texts in the same field. A Glossary typically includes product names, company names, department names, acronyms and other repetitive terminology company or industry specific jargon.
You can import your Glossary in .csv file format into Pairaphrase. Once your glossary has been successfully imported into Pairaphrase, your company's users can look up and replace terms in the Translation Editor while editing and reviewing translations. If you are using the AWS or DeepL translation engines to create custom translations, Pairaphrase will insert your terms directly into your translations.
To upload a Glossary, navigate to your User Profile screen by clicking on your name in the upper right-hand corner of your screen (step 1). Click on Translation Glossaries on the left side-bar (step 2). On the Translation Glossaries screen, click on the Upload CSV button (step 3).
Select the Source Language and the Target Language (step 1), select the Group, Public is the default, (step 2), upload or drag and drop your csv file and click on the Upload button (step4).
Once imported users can then add more terms, correct terms, bookmark terms and delete terms without maintaining the original csv file. Glossaries help users improve translation quality by standardizing and sharing terms across all users. A Glossary typically includes product names, company names, department names, acronyms and other repetitive terminology company or industry specific jargon.
