The best practice when producing a Table of Contents (TOC) is to use the Microsoft Auto-generate feature. This will produce a TOC in seconds from the headings in your file. You simply place your cursor where you want the TOC to appear and then click on References>Table of Contents>and choose a Table. 

How to insert TOC

To translate your TOC you need to first remove the TOC from your MSWord file. Simply place your cursor in front of the TOC and click on References>Remove Table of Contents.

Now your file is ready for translation. After you've translated and downloaded your file, simply open your file, place your cursor where you want the TOC to appear and insert your TOC.
