How to bypass Translation Memory

This article describes how to allow a user to bypass translation memories.

Opting Out of Translation Memory

Due to strict confidentiality compliance requirements, some users and departments may want to only use the Pairaphrase File Translator feature and may not want to edit translations or save their edited translations to a Pairaphrase Translation Memory. In the strictest confidentiality environments, saving edited translations may pose a security risk for Legal and HR departments. For privacy purposes, these users can translate files and bypass their translation memories. These users can only upload and download translated files.

Set Group to None and bypass translation memory

To bypass translation memories, navigate to your User Profile page and select Manage Users (step 1). You will see a list of Users and which Groups they belong to. Pairaphrase comes standard with two Groups: Public and None. Click on the Pen next to the User (step 2) you'd like to change. Change the Group from "Public" to "None" to bypass Translation Memory (step 3) and click on the Save button (step 4). This will bypass translation memory for that user. Only Owners and Admins can assign Users to Translation Memory Groups.
