How do I download and install PairaVoice?
PairaVoice is available for iOS and Android. Search "PairaVoice" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, tap Install, and open the app once download completes. You'll need iOS 15+ or Android 10+ and an active internet connection for setup.
How do I create a PairaVoice account?
Open the app and tap Sign Up. Enter your email address and create a password, or sign up with Google/Apple sign-in. Verify your email, then complete your profile (name, primary language, and use case — healthcare, education, or personal) to get tailored defaults.
How do I choose my AI Voice Recognition model (ElevenLabs, Google, or OpenAI)?
In Settings > Voice Recognition Model, select your preferred model. Each plan includes access to all three options , and you can switch between them at any time — including mid-conversation for a new session. If you're unsure which to choose, start with the default recommended engine and adjust based on the accuracy and speed you experience for your language pair.
How do I choose my Translation Model (OpenAI, DeepL or Google)?
In Settings > Translation Model, select your preferred option. All plans include access to all three models, and you can switch between them at any time. If you’re unsure which one to choose, start with the recommended default and try the others to see which delivers the best combination of translation quality, accuracy, and speed for your language pair.
What's the difference between streaming mode and batch mode?
Streaming mode translates as you speak, word by word, prioritizing speed — ideal for fast back-and-forth conversation. Batch mode waits until you finish a full sentence or pause, then translates the complete thought — prioritizing accuracy. Use streaming for casual or time-sensitive exchanges, and batch for clinical, legal, or high-stakes conversations where precision matters most.
How do I select my source and target languages?
In Settings, select your native language, or the language you’ll be speaking, from the drop-down menu. This will be your source language. When you start a conversation, PairaVoice will prompt you to select the language spoken by the other person, which will be your target language.
How do I start my first translated conversation?
From the home screen, tap New Conversation. The system will first ask whether only you have PairaVoice or both participants have PairaVoice. Then, select the language spoken by the other person.
Tap the microphone icon to begin speaking. Translated text and audio will appear in the chat-style interface in real time.
To choose between Streaming and Batch mode, or to change your Voice Recognition Model or Translation Model, go to Settings.
How does PairaVoice work?
PairaVoice uses AI speech recognition (ElevenLabs, Google, or OpenAI) to convert your spoken words into text, translates that text using your selected model (OpenAI, Google or DeepL), and plays back the translation as natural-sounding speech — optionally in your own personalized voice. The full exchange appears as a readable transcript in a chat-style interface.
What languages does PairaVoice support?
PairaVoice currently supports 16+ languages, including English, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, French, German, Korean, Vietnamese, Italian, Polish, Cantonese, and Tagalog.
How accurate is PairaVoice's translation?

Batch mode delivers the highest accuracy for critical exchanges, such as clinical consultations. Accuracy can vary by language pair, background noise, and speaking clarity — noise cancellation and hands-free mode can help improve results in challenging environments.

PairaVoice (core plan, $2.99/month) includes real-time voice translation, unlimited conversations, personalized voice, multi-engine translation, dual translation modes, noise cancellation, hands-free mode, and single/dual-device support. How do I switch between translation and note-taking mode?
Tap the mode toggle at the top of the home screen to switch between Conversation (real-time translation) and Notes (transcription). Note-taking mode is available to Pro subscribers and does not require a second speaker or target language — it's designed for capturing your own voice, lectures, or meetings.
